Citizen's Festival

On Saturday, July 5, 2014, the Media Ambassadors 2014 attended the Robert Bosch Stiftung's citizen's festival in Stuttgart on the occassion of its 50th anniversary and took a look behind the scenes of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The anniversary's slogan is "50 Years Shaping the Future", and features a look back at the Foundation's history and achievements to date. In addition, the Foundation continues to look ahead to future societal challenges.

The Foundation invests approximately 70 million euros annually in supporting its own as well as third-party projects in the fields of international relations, education, society and culture, as well as health and science. Since its founding, the Foundation has spent over 1.2 billion euros for charitable projects in these areas, and has supported more than 20,000 individual projects. As such, the Robert Bosch Stiftung is one of Europe's largest foundations associated with a private company.

In the Foundation's park, the fellows met with Christian Hänel, Head of Department "International Relations America and Asia" and learnt from him more about the Foundation's work. Each year the Robert Bosch Stiftung supports around 700 projects in Germany and abroad in the fields of science, health, education, international relations, society, and culture. What does the Foundation do exactly? In what specific areas is the Foundation active? How does it work and where does it get its funding? The citizen's festival provided the answers to these and other questions – in an easy-to-understand, entertaining way.

Program Director Lillian Zhang congratulated the Robert Bosch Stiftung on behalf of the International Media Center (IMC), program partner of the Media Ambassador program.
