New ambassadors for new challenges

The Robert Bosch Stiftung in cooperation with the International Media Center Hamburg is proud to welcome eight Chinese media ambassadors in Hamburg. For the next three months they will experience life and work in Germany, furthermore the Chinese journalists will promote quality reporting on intercultural subjects. The group of media ambassadors in 2013 is composed of newspaper and magazine reporters, a TV journalist and a photographer.

The eight Chinese media ambassadors are: Song Bing from Shanghai, Liu Xiang from Guangzhou, Zhou Kangliang from Kunming, Wei Wei and Zhang Jieping who both come from Hong Kong as well as Qiu Lian, Yang Wanli and Zhang Yan from the Chinese capital Beijing. “We are very happy to have eight extraordinary fellows on the program again. Their participation in the Medienbotschafter program is an evidence for the perpetual success of the exchange”, said Program Director Lillian Zhang at the Welcome Dinner in Hamburg.

The program started off with seminars of the one-month training course at the International Media Center Hamburg. Already on the second day the media ambassadors visited the headquarters of Der Spiegel where they had an informative conversation with magazine's former China-Correspondent Sandra Schulz. Further visits at German media headquarters as well as discussions with German media performers will be an essential part in the program’s first weeks.
